Marketing Specialist
POSITION DESCRIPTION
1.0 FTE
Position Overview
The full-time marketing specialist position is responsible forcreating and developing new campus marketing strategies, implementing a comprehensive campus marketing plan, and facilitating marketing efforts directed towards campus recruitment and retention strategies to meet enrollment goals. The marketing specialist will work closely with the campus marketing group to achieve greater campus awareness in the community. The marketing specialist will report to the Assistant Campus Dean for Student Services.
Campus Marketing Plan
- Work collaboratively with the campus marketing group to design, implement and facilitate a campus marketing plan to create a more visible campus presence in the community.
- The Marketing Specialist should be versed in methods for themeasurement and evaluation of marketing initiatives to ensure that resources are being used effectively.
- Work with the marketing group to create the brand identity for the campus to enhance the overall image of the campus.
- Develop and maintain a master marketing calendar and task list for campus marketing opportunities (recruitment events, course scheduling and registration promotions, campus visit groups and events, media scheduling, etc.)
- Identify and facilitate cross-promotional marketing opportunities within the campus to further enhance positive relationships.
- Identify and facilitate cross-promotional marketing opportunities between the campus and community organizations with ties to the campus.
- Identify, develop and execute new marketing opportunities to promote campus programs.
- Actively participate in the campus marketing group meetings.
- Work with the marketing group to develop and conduct an effective social media plan.
- Work with the campus webmaster to develop the campus internet presence including websites and best uses of new communication technologies .
Recruitment and Retention
- Work with campus to develop marketing strategies to achieve campus enrollment goals.
- Work with the retention group to increase student retention on campus through marketing initiatives to current students.
- Work collaboratively with various campus departments and student groups to promote campus events.
- Develop a strategy to assist faculty in marketing their classes to new, unique audiences.
- Work with the campus graphic designer on the development of marketing materials.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field is required. Professional experience in university, non-profit, or corporate communications is required. Excellent writing, speaking, organizational, and publication production skills, and ability to work with and communicate with diverse constituencies. Experience in marketing and working with print, electronic, and social media is needed. Familiarity and ability to use MS Office suite and Adobe Creative Suite products is needed.
