Position
The Department of Mathematics of the University of Wisconsin Colleges, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics at UW-Richland.
Qualifications
A doctorate in Mathematics is preferred. The successful candidate must present evidence of excellent teaching, demonstrate a strong commitment to quality undergraduate teaching and learning, and indicate facility with instructional technology. An interest in teaching in interdisciplinary teams is valued.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be able to teach a broad range of freshmen-sophomore courses of a liberal arts curriculum ranging from algebra to calculus/differential equations. The academic year teaching assignment is 24 credits. Professional activity in mathematics and/or mathematics education is expected. Other duties include participation in shared governance, student advisement, first-year programming, and community outreach.
The Colleges and the Campus
The UW Colleges is the freshman-sophomore transfer institution within the UW System. UW Colleges functions as a unit that comprises thirteen two-year campuses, each of which offers an excellent liberal arts and pre-professional education for students beginning work toward a bachelorÕs degree. UW-Richland is located in Richland Center, the birthplace of Frank Lloyd Wright. An intimate community of more than 5000, Richland Center is situated midway between Madison and LaCrosse. Located in the driftless region, the area boasts an outstanding natural environment. Currently the campus serves nearly 500 students in a college environment that provides for small classes and individualized student attention. Most of our graduates transfer within the University of Wisconsin System, primarily UW-Madison, UW-Platteville, UW-LaCrosse, and UW-Stevens Point. However, our students have graduated from universities around the world.
Salary
