New Leaders Named at UW-Fox Valley and UW-Rock County

Rudd chosen for UW-Fox Valley and Wilson for UW-Rock County

MADISON, Wis. – Ray Cross, chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Colleges and University of Wisconsin Extension, today named Martin D. Rudd to serve as campus executive officer and dean at UW-Fox Valley in Menasha, and Carmen R. Wilson to serve as campus executive officer and dean at UW-Rock County in Janesville.

Rudd served as interim campus executive officer and dean at UW-Manitowoc from 2010-2011. Prior to that position, he was the associate campus dean for academic affairs at UW-Fox Valley from 2006-10 and is currently an associate professor of chemistry at UW-Fox Valley. Rudd received his doctorate in inorganic chemistry and bachelor of science degree from the University of Warwick, Coventry, England.

Rudd succeeds Jim Perry, who served as CEO/dean for 18 years before his retirement earlier this year. He will start his new duties January 1, 2012.

Wilson is the chief of staff and affirmative action officer at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Prior to her current position, she was the assessment coordinator from 2004-08 and faculty senate chair from 2005-2008. Wilson earned her doctorate and master's degree in counseling psychology and her bachelor's degree in psychology at Iowa State University.

Wilson succeeds Diane Pillard, who retired at the end of June. She will take office December 1.

“I am very pleased to be able to appoint such experienced administrators to lead these two important campuses,” Cross said. “They are student-oriented, but also understand the needs of the institution.”

UW-Fox Valley and UW-Rock County are campuses of the UW Colleges, a unit of the University of Wisconsin System comprised of 13 freshman-sophomore campuses and UW Colleges Online that offer an associate degree in arts and science and prepare students of all ages and backgrounds for baccalaureate and professional programs.
